Happy New Year.

Whoa, Sasha Grey is looking a little worn in the face at the AVN Awards the other night:

Where is that fresh faced teenager of yesterporn?

I'm following her career now- she won the Jenna Jameson Award for Best Crossover Star.

Did Jenna Jameson ever crossover? Not sure into what. But Sasha has crossed over into acting and modelling for the likes of American Apparel:

Like most of our great morning debates, yesterday's breakfast conversation was ignited by none other than Tyra "Big Fat Prude" Banks. Tyra, who has never drank alcohol, smoked or used drugs in her entire precious life, enjoys judging lesser humans on her talk show.

She was interviewing a teen stripper who had big dreams of "getting into" porn someday. Her daddy was there encouraging her to "do whatever she wants" in life because he loves and supports her. The teen said she would never get herself into dangerous situations
or have sex with a stranger for less than $1000!

Thanks to the skyrocketing careers of Jenna Jameson and Sasha Grey, all the young pornstar wannabes expect that they will get $$$$$paid$$$$ one day and live in mansions and "retire" by 30.

It is great to have dreams, right Tyra? You essentially sold your body for $$$ so you know about this stuff.

Here was the crux of our breakfast debate:

Can you somehow work your way through the porn system and come out completely emotionally unscathed?
Is it possible to be stuffed/pummeled/slapped/gangbanged/degraded on film for ten years without hating yourself or acquiring a substance abuse problem?

I tried to argue yes. That at least ONE famous ex-pornstar had to be issue-free and content.
Perhaps they have a false sense of empowerment and control because they made tons of $$$$$.
Tons of $$$$ might justify that career choice?

After receiving the award for Best Double Penetration Sex Scene of 2009, there really is nowhere to go but up! Or American Apparel.

This whole post is hilarious but "yesterporn" really made me laugh.

Thanks Wendy!
FYI to all readers:
Best Double Penetration Sex Scene is a REAL award.

Is it possible, yes. But is it likely or has it happened? Probably no. BUT - if porn keeps losing its stigma, and becomes more mainstream, and women make more porn, the possibility remains that one day it won't be any more destructive than posing naked for Playboy. But right now...it's probably terrible for you.

Wow, way to start the year off all edgy and stuff!

I'm sure working in porn rots away important parts of a woman's personality. Not sure if the effect is quite as damaging for guys but I doubt they come out undamaged either.

But hey, my job does not involve any porn at all and it has sucked away most of my will to live.

At least porn stars get to sleep late.

Seriously - have you ever thought of contributing articles to newspapers and such like?

Sunday Best- I'm already fairly desensitized. I guess that is why porn has become so extreme..in order to make a name for yourself now you have to be willing to do some pretty crazy things. At least you can't get herpes from posing for Playboy!

Dayton- Good one!

bdgbill- Ha! Sleeping in is great...you need a career change?

Spectator- Oh, you!
If I could get paid to blog I would probably do it on a more consistent basis.

Just read this BUTT interview with Aiden Shaw and it had me thinking about the same things!

Also, I recently watched a documentary called 'Exposed,' about the making of a gay porno (called 'BuckleRoos' -- it's about a magic belt buckle that gets you laid!), and they made it look like making gay cowboy porn is the most fun job on the planet. While the actors were waiting for the scene they were horsing around in the pool and eating shrimp cocktails and being hilarious!

Cool post. You don't have to observe stuff from a moral point of view all the time i guess. There are no morals left anyhow. Sex is remained legal somehow and people just try to have as much sex as possible and it's cool like that. But it beats me what's so special about Sasha Grey. Not a great actress, not that good looking either, so? Apparently likes Tarkovsky or some shit like that.. *shrug*
